NoVA Ice Dogs is a 100% volunteer-run organization.
In addition to coaches, assistant coaches and team managers, we need parent volunteers to manage the penalty box, as well as to run the clock and keep the scoresheet at every home game. It is also helpful to have parent volunteers help out in the dressing rooms, especially for younger teams. All Ice Dog volunteers interacting with players need SafeSport certification. This is USA Hockey and NoVA Ice Dogs policy.
We are eager for volunteers with experience in legal counsel, non-profit expertise, communications and social media, and events planning.
We encourage ALL PARENTS to take the 90-minute training course and get SafeSport certified, so that you are available to pitch in and help your child’s team.
In addition to supporting your player’s team on the ice, there are tons of ways you can get involved with the Ice Dogs. Please consider whether you can contribute your time and talents to any of the following:
Communications and social media
Community events
Fundraising
Merchandise sales
Technology (web support, teamsnap, etc.)
