The Northern Virginia Hockey Club (NVHC) has adopted a mandatory indoor mask policy to protect players of certain age groups in the club and their families by lowering the risk of COVID-19 transmission and illness. This policy acknowledges that players in NVHC’s Learn To Play (LTP), 8U, 10U, and 12U age groups are currently ineligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations and therefor remain at greater risk of contracting the virus and transmitting it to others.
The policy applies to all players, coaches, officials, and spectators in the LTP, 8U, 10U, and 12U programs and stipulates that:
➢ All individuals will wear a face covering securely over their mouth and nose at all times inside NVHC home facilities (Mount Vernon RECenter, Fort Dupont Ice Arena), and at facilities where NVHC may conduct games, practices, and other events as the home team at nearby facilities (including but not limited to The Saint James, Tucker Road Ice Arena).
➢ All individuals will wear a face covering securely over their mouth and nose at all times inside facilities where NVHC is the visiting team.
➢ If a player, coach, official, or spectator does not comply with the NVHC mask policy, they will be asked to correctly wear a face covering.
➢ If a player, coach, official, or spectator continues to not comply with the NVHC mask policy they will be asked to leave. This is at the discretion of the NVHC coaches present.
The NVHC will revisit this policy once vaccines are available for our youngest players.
